Delphine Durand

Delphine Durand is my second French illustrator this week. She definitely has that distinctive French look about her work (note the long noses again, deep colours, mixed media textures...).

Delphine has illustrated (and in some cases also written) children's picture books such as The Snoops, Beetle Boy, My House, Terrible Trolls, The House That Jill Built and many others.

The Snoops is one of my favourites, simply because it's such a silly storyline and she really has fun with the characters. The story shows the hilarious goings on between the nosey neighbours of Keyhole Place. The back page has a paper-engineered key hole that pops up, so you can just see into the neighbours houses - what fun!
